Ford F-MAX now with a new design
Second generation: new grille, more comfort
Following the presentation of the F-MAX Gen. 2.0 with a new powertrain at the Truck Grand Prix and NUFAM 2025, Ford Trucks is launching a new design for its long-haul trucks. A modified appearance and a completely redesigned interior round off the new generation of the F-MAX. It is now also available with a sophisticated mirror cam system as an option. The new grille gives the truck a distinctive, modern, and attractive styling. These updates are likely to further consolidate the brand's existing success in many European countries.

A press release from F-Trucks Deutschland GmbH, the general importer for Ford Trucks on the German market, states:
With the second generation of the F-MAX, Ford Trucks is consistently developing its successful model in the heavy commercial vehicle segment. The modern design, fuel efficiency of up to 11.3 percent thanks to the new 510 hp Ecotorq GEN2 engine and the new 16-speed transmission with four reverse gears, as well as numerous technological innovations, are among the outstanding features of the new model.

Whereas previously a black grille dominated the front end and reminded some critics of the appearance of the 2013 Volvo FH, the Turkish truck manufacturer is now presenting an improved look after seven years of the F-MAX being on the market. The redesigned radiator grille blends seamlessly into the bodywork and gives the F-MAX a modern, elegant appearance. The black headlights, which are now standard equipment, emphasize the striking appearance of the new model.

The equipment has also been significantly upgraded. The optional digital mirror system not only improves aerodynamics, but also increases safety with its Sentinel mode. This allows the entire vehicle to be monitored from the inside even when the engine is switched off. Any approach from outside can be detected even at night, even at the rear of the trailer.
Inside, the F-MAX GEN 2.0 offers noticeably more comfort and functionality. The 12-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.4-inch multimedia display allow the display to be customized and ensure modern, driver-oriented operation. The equipment package is complemented by wireless charging, an electronic parking brake, keyless start, and the new Max Security Lock for additional security when parking.
New features include voice assistant technology that understands commands in 13 languages and can be activated via four different commands. This allows the air conditioning, music, radio, and telephone to be conveniently operated via voice control. Drivers can also easily access important functions during rest periods via the seven-inch touchscreen unit on the rear wall next to the bed.

“Our goal is to further improve driver comfort and efficiency in long-distance transport. Fuel savings and the new cab interior make the F-MAX an attractive choice for transport companies in Germany,” says Bernhard Kerscher, managing partner of F-Trucks Deutschland GmbH. Behind the company is the Stegmaier Group, which has been closely associated with Ford since 1930. The founder of the group signed one of the first contracts with Ford on the German market, which is still valid today. There are now 72 service partners for Ford trucks in Germany. The number of Ford trucks on the road in Germany every day is estimated at 6,500. This figure was determined based on data from the service partners.

When Turkish truck manufacturer Ford Trucks presented the first-generation F-MAX at the IAA Commercial Vehicles show in 2018, some of the trade audience still had serious doubts as to whether an eighth truck supplier could gain a foothold in Europe alongside the industry's Big Seven. The demanding German market in particular seemed almost impregnable. But things turned out differently. Ford Trucks are now ubiquitous on German highways, and not just those with Eastern European license plates. There are now more than 2000 F-MAX trucks registered in Germany, and the feedback from operators and drivers is very positive.. The second generation of the F-MAX will further increase the brand's success, skepticism about the new player will diminish, and one day Ford Trucks could be among the “Big Eight” in Europe.
