Announcement: The 1st Historical Black Forest Timber Days
A journey back in time to 1956
On May 31 and June 1, 2025, not only the matching veteran commercial vehicles will be presented to the public in a historical setting, but also the entire environment of timber production in the Black Forest around 70 years ago. Anyone who lives in south-west Germany and is interested in old technology should not miss this event. It is also worth traveling a little further. Because what is on offer around Seebrugg station and the sawmill in Immeneich cannot be found at any other event.

The timber industry has always been the most important economic sector in the Upper Black Forest. The 1st Historical Black Forest Timber Days take us back to the year 1956 and show us how people used to work there. Everyday life between the transportation of timber and the processing of logs into beams and boards is brought back to life in the sawmill. The transportation of the products from the Seebrugg country station is shown, as are the crafts in the sawmill and the numerous vehicles used to transport timber on forest roads and rails. Forklift trucks for loading and many other aids that are common today did not exist back then. Instead, muscle power and ingenuity were needed to move the heavy logs, boards and equipment.
The event takes place at two different locations: the historic Seebrugg railroad station and the nearby Immeneich sawmill.

Venue 1:
At Seebrugg station, numerous historic vehicles will be used to load long logs, sawn timber and wood wool. Around 25 veteran vehicles are in use, from horse-drawn carts and tractors to early logging trucks.
Venue 2:
Deep in a Black Forest valley lies the Immeneich sawmill. The family-run historic sawmill, which is still in operation almost every day, retains the charm of times gone by, as work has been carried out here in the same way for decades. The buildings and the entire area surrounding the sawmill have not been modernized. Carts and trucks coming from Seebrugg are loaded and unloaded. The aged machines saw the logs into beams and boards and prove that they are far from being outdated.

The participating drivers and workers will be dressed authentically to take the public at the station and in the sawmill back to 1956 in detail. Historic cars will complete the picture.
The event starts at Seebrugg station. There is an entrance fee of 7 euros per person, children up to the age of 14 pay half price. At the station, visitors also receive directions to the sawmill, which is accessible in their own vehicle. As there is no parking available at the sawmill itself, a shuttle service in period coaches will be provided from the nearby parking lot.
