GINAF

Veenendaal, Netherlands

GINAF Trucks B.V. is a Dutch truck manufacturer that  offers vehicles primarily for heavy off-road transport and construction and agricultural work. In addition, since 2013, it produces fully electric vehicles with up to 24 tons gross weight based on DAF CF and Mercedes Atego for waste disposal and distribution tasks. GINAF is one of the few manufacturers of heavy trucks in Europe that can hold its own against the industry's Big Seven. The company's main plant in Veenendaal, the Netherlands, produces around 80 to 100 vehicles a year. The company also has dealerships across the country.

The GINAF Chronicle

The history of GINAF began in 1933 with Evert van Ginkel, who ran a car dismantling and car dealership in Ederveen (the Netherlands). A new field of business opened up after the Second World War, when van Ginkel began to convert decommissioned GMC, Diamond-T and REO trucks from U.S. Army stocks for civilian use and eventually went on to produce its own truck models. In the process, the company made use of components and cabs from DAF. The name GINAF first appeared on the grille of a dump truck in 1967 and has since become part of the street scene, especially in the Netherlands. The following chronicle of the development  of GINAF was written by our freelancer, the commercial vehicle journalist Niels Jansen. All important GINAF models are included in words and pictures.
